    Aero cockpits for triathlon and TT — three sizes, or built to your measurements

    An aero cockpit is where the rider meets the bike, and it's where most triathlon and TT setups either work or quietly stop working. Get the position dialled and you can stay in it. Get it wrong and the watts you saved on paper start leaking back at hour two.

    There are two cockpits here, built on the same aerodynamic shape: the Aero Cockpit in three sizes at €999, and the Custom Aero Cockpit PRO, made to your own measurements. What separates them is fit, not shape.

    Why the cockpit matters more than most upgrades

    Speed in triathlon and time trial isn't only about producing more power — it's about how your body meets the wind. A narrower, more stable upper-body position cuts drag, but only if you can actually hold it. When the position isn't comfortable the shoulders fatigue, the head comes up, you sit taller, and the aerodynamic gain quietly disappears. A cockpit that fits your dimensions is one you can hold for longer.

    The shape does its own work. A two-piece extension setup leaves a gap between your forearms and puts two separate tubes into the airflow. A monocoque cockpit closes that gap and presents a single surface instead. Our underside is rounded rather than boxy, so air passing beneath the cockpit isn't caught against two individual extensions.

    On watt figures: we don't publish one for this cockpit platform yet. We have velodrome data on the cockpit these two replaced, but it was measured on a different product against a different baseline, so reprinting it here would tell you nothing true about these. When we do publish a number it will carry its sample size, its test speed and the baseline it was measured against — the way the figures on our BTA hydration system pages do.

    Aero Cockpit or Custom Aero Cockpit PRO?

    Both use the identical aerodynamic profile. All of the aero development sits in that shared shape and none of it is held back for the custom version — the difference you pay for is fit.

    Aero Cockpit — €999, three sizes

    • Three sizes: S 20 cm · M 24 cm · L 28 cm armpad width, measured outside edge to outside edge, with 27 / 29 / 31 cm of forearm length. Between two sizes, size up on both.
    • 13 frame platforms. Bolts to the spacer towers your extensions already use, with our CNC-machined 7075 aluminium angled risers and pole clamps included in the price.
    • 70 mm of reach and 15–30° of angle, adjusted with the cockpit on the bike — a fit session, not a reorder.
    • Lead time approx. 2 weeks.
    • The three sizes are drawn from hundreds of athletes we've measured for custom builds, so they cover most riders.

    Custom Aero Cockpit PRO — from €1,249.90, built to you

    • No fixed sizes. Built to your armpad width, your reach and your forearm length.
    • 17 frame platforms. The same 13 at €1,399.90 with our angled risers, plus four frames that have no two-tower interface and mount on the bike's own extension system instead, at €1,249.90.
    • Adjustability depends on the frame. On the 13 riser frames you get the same 70 mm of reach and 15–30° of angle. On the four native-mount frames the angle comes from your bike's own system and reach is set at build — which is why those are custom-only, and cheaper.
    • Lead time approx. 3–4 weeks.

    Which one is right for you

    Start with your armpad width. If it sits close to 20, 24 or 28 cm and your bike is one of the 13 standard platforms, the three-size Aero Cockpit is the one to order — and if you're between sizes, size up on both measurements.

    Go custom if your numbers fall between or outside the three sizes, if you're coming out of a bike fit with figures you want built in, or if you ride an Argon 18 E117 / E118 / E119, Cervélo P5 disc / P5X / P3X, Specialized Shiv Disc Tri or Quintana Roo PRSix. Those four mount natively and are PRO-only.

    Before you order

    Three things worth settling first: which bike you ride and how its extensions mount today, your armpad width and forearm length measured as described on the product page, and whether your position is where you want it or still needs work. If you've never had a TT bike fit, that's the better first purchase — a cockpit built around a position you're about to change is money spent twice.     What's the difference between the Aero Cockpit and the Custom Aero Cockpit PRO?
    Fit, frame coverage and lead time. The Aero Cockpit comes in three sizes — 20, 24 and 28 cm armpad width — at €999 with the angled risers and pole clamps included, in about two weeks. The PRO is built to your own width, reach and forearm length, covers four extra frames that mount on the bike's own system, and takes three to four weeks. The aerodynamic profile is identical.

    Is the PRO faster than the standard cockpit?
    Not by shape — it's the same shape, and nothing aerodynamic is held back for the custom version. It can be faster for you, because a cockpit built to your dimensions is one you can hold a lower, narrower position in for longer. That's a fit argument, not a drag figure.

    What's the difference between a monocoque cockpit and two-piece extensions?
    Two-piece extensions leave a gap between your forearms and put two separate tubes into the airflow. A one-piece cockpit closes that gap and presents a single surface to the wind, and our rounded underside stops air being caught against individual extensions. It also puts your forearms into a deep, continuous cup rather than on two pads, which is what lets you brace and stay down.

    Will it fit my bike?
    Both cockpits are printed per frame, so pick your bike as well — and on the standard, your size. Thirteen platforms take our angled risers: Canyon Speedmax CFR/SLX and Speedmax CF disc (incl. CF7 / CF8), Specialized S-Works Shiv TT, BMC Timemachine and Speedmachine, Scott Plasma 6 / 7 / RC, Factor Hanzo and Slick, Trek Speed Concept, Cube Aerium C:68, Cadex Tri, Felt IA 2.0 and Quintana Roo V-PRi. Note that the Shiv TT is on that list but the Shiv Disc Tri is not — it's one of the four native-mount frames, and PRO-only. If your bike isn't listed at all, write to us with the model; we can sometimes adapt a custom build to it.
